Season of the Witch

Well, personal life got in the way of my epic plans for Halloween art everyday, but I do at least have a little something to show you.

Finally!

It's October! Going to try and do at least one Halloween/Autumn related sketch or painting every day this month. I'm a bit behind already, so I'll catch up in the next post.

P.S. Forgot how much I love using watercolors.

Unrelated

Here's a faun. And a spooky gravedigger sort of guy (who I'll be painting for sure).

Painting today

Spending the day at home with my paints and 14 blank canvases. The bat one is more than inspired by Jill Thompson's awesome artwork; I just wanted to make something pretty to hang up in my room at work. The second is just..well.. I think it's pretty obvious.

Spring Break R'Lyeh!

I know it's a bit late, considering Autumn's coming up. Oh well. Girl Cthulhu! I'm going to start painting this one today.

Junkyard

This is Junkyard, from the Toxic Crusaders. He was once an ordinary dog, but then one dark and stormy night, a hobo took shelter in his doghouse and during the flood of toxic ooze, the two were melded into one! Part bum, part dog, but all hero!

ZOMBIES

I've been using these prismacolor brush pens to sketch with; I really like the effect. I've been watching zombie movies, looking at art by Mike Mignola and Egon Schiele..I think you can tell.

caricatures?

Andy Gore was kind enough to screen me a small Dawn of the Dead hoodie, so as a thank you I did this drawing of Johnny Ramone for him. Well...that's who it was supposed to be anyway. By the way, check out Andy's killer t-shirts and stuff here: Satan's Sideshow

After I did this one I wanted to try another caricature. A friend suggested Vinnie Jones. I think his turned out better.

Tongue-punching your fartbox

I draw a lot of single character pin ups. Thought I'd try something different for a change.

Sketchdump the First

First, I apologize for the horrible photo quality of these. My scanner is not working. Must remedy this soon.

Uh.. let me be the first to admit my habit of drawing male characters from movies, comics, books, etc. as busty females.

Let's get this party started..

All right meatbags, this'll be where I post, in addition to recent artwork, all the unfinished works in progress, doodles, sketches, and general junk that has long since been lurking unseen by the masses in my sketchbooks. I draw every day, and I feel that a day going by without having done at least one sketch that I can be proud of is a day wasted. Most of these drawings never progress beyond their initial sloppiness, but there's usually something about them that I like; a line, a gesture, a feeling. My goal is to update this at least two or three times a week, so stay tuned.

By the way, I hope you like my header, my cat Boo picked it out from a bunch of drawings I scattered across the counter.
